The Mick Kent stable is on fire right now after taking out the Group 1 staying feature for the three-year-old fillies with Abbey Marie last week and I see no reason he can’t take out the boys prize too with Charlevoix. The New Approach three-year-old put the writing on the wall hitting the line strongly when fourth in the Group II Alister Clark Stakes (2040m) at Moonee Valley then earned his ‘top pick’ status when overpowering rivals for a dominant 2400m win at Sandown last time. The 2500m journey is always an acid test for 3yo’s but on form Charlevoix gives every indication he will relish the trip.
