Gameweek 4 will see the return legs of the matches played in Champions League Gameweek 3. There will be 16 matches within opening two days of November. This is the prime time as the following two weeks will decide who are going to advance from the group stage, who will be out and who will make it to the UEFA Europa league.

The most salivating Champions League fixture lies in Group C game between English aspirants Manchester City and Spanish giants Barcelona as the Catalans will visit Etihad with high confidence as they thrashed their opponents 4-0 at Nou Camp. Manchester City, under Pep guardiola, will be looking for a good result in order to book a spot for the next round. Barcelona, who won the fixture at home with Lionel Messi’s brilliant hattrick, are already at the top of the group with 9 points from 3 matches. They will look to maintain their 100% winning record. In another Group C encounter Scottish side Celtic will face German side Borussia Monchengladbach. The German team have 3 points, one less than Manchester City. They will look to secure a win at home to retain their hope of qualifying for the next stage.

In Group A table toppers Arsenal will visit last boy Ludogorets in search of a convincing win. They were victorious with a thumping 6 goal margin when the Bulgarian side visited them. In another match, French champions Paris Saint-Germain, who have only an inferior goal difference to Arsenal, will travel to Switzerland as they will meet FC Basel. Last time when they met in Gameweek 3, PSG beat the Swiss side by 3-0. Both Arsenal and PSG will secure their round of 16 berths if they win their matches.

SSC Napoli will take on Besiktas as the Turkish side will be hosting the match. Besiktas won 3-2 at Naples in a thrilling encounter. Napoli will try to earn a victory. In another match of the same group, Benfica will host Dynamo Kiev. The group standings show that any two teams from Napoli (6 points), Besiktas (5 points) and Benfica (4 points) will make it to the next round.

In their Group D match, last year’s beaten finalists Atletico Madrid will play FC Rostov. The Spanish challengers are occupying the top position of the group with 100% victory. They managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory at Rostov. Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich will travel to the Netherlands to meet PSV Eindhoven. Both Atletico and Bayern will comfortably secure their place in the next round if they win tomorrow.

The second day of Champions League Gameweek 4 will see defending champions Real Madrid taking on Polish side Legia Warsaw in an away encounter. Last time, the 11-time Champions League champions destroyed their opponents with 5-1 victory. Real Madrid are currently second to Borussia Dortmund only by goal difference. The German brigade of Thomas Tuchel will look to earn a victory at home when they will meet Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon. Dortmund and Real Madrid will progress from Group F if they can manage victory.

The crucial fixtures lie in group E as the four teams stand very close to each other. AS Monaco are at the top of the table with 5 points, followed by Tottenham Hotspurs with 4, Bayer Leverkusen with 3 and CSKA Moskva with 2 points. The table toppers will host the team at the bottom while the English side will take on the German team at White Hart Lane. The teams winning this week will have a better opportunity to progress to the next round of the Champions League.

Though Leicester City, the defending English Premier League champions, are failing to repeat their fairy tale performance in the Premier League, they are flying high in the Champions League in their maiden appearance. They have maintained a 100% winning record here. Claudio Ranieri’s men will visit FC kobenhavn in their Group G match. In another match FC Porto will host Club Brugge. The English side will progress to the next round if they can win this fixture.

In Champions League Group H, Italian giants Juventus will play French side Lyon. They are at the top of the table and level on points with Spanish side Sevilla while maintaining a superior goal difference. Sevilla will face Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb. Both Juventus and Sevilla will comfortably reach the next round if they can win their games.
