Conor McGregor Vs Floyd Mayweather Boxing Vs UFC

The McGregor Vs Mayweather fight is set to break all box offices on record and become potentially the biggest payday in the history of sport. You might argue that boxing notoriously demands the biggest dollars, but this is more than just a boxing match.

With the sudden rise in UFC and MMA sports over the past decade, Boxing has retired in the background and demands the headline act of the undefeated Mayweather to once again bring the sport back to relevance. Or so we think? What if Floyd who is risking his 49-0 unbeaten record to fight the UFC champion is defeated? In front of the boxing world he surrenders his crown to an MMA fighter, who boxing fans have despised in the taking over of there beloved sport that has been at the forefront of the sporting world for over 100 years.

Mayweather is considered the greatest boxer of his generation and among the best of all-time. The fight with McGregor, in addition to paying him in excess of nine figures, will give him the opportunity to improve to 50-0.

McGregor is one of the elite mixed martial arts fighters in the world, but has never boxed before, either amateur or pro. He won the UFC’s featherweight title in a 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo on Dec. 12, 2015. He then split a pair of non-title welterweight fights with Nate Diaz before knocking out Eddie Alvarez on Nov. 12, 2016, in New York to win the lightweight belt and become the first fighter to hold two UFC championships simultaneously.

Jeff Sherman, the oddsmaker at the Westgate sports book in Las Vegas, made Mayweather a minus-1000 favorite. McGregor is plus-650.

The bout came together organically, as McGregor first spoke about his desire to fight Mayweather and then they began going back-and-forth on social media.

This bout is Boxing Vs MMA, and MMA has nothing to lose! If boxing and Mayweather were to succumb to the UFC champion, we may see the sport of Boxing rest in peace.
