MLB Season Preview
Thursday, July 23 marks the Opening Day for Major League Baseball. The 60-game season will start with the Defending Champion Washington Nationals against the New York Yankees. Although stats and overall records will look different, there is always opportunity with the amount of games being played every day.
MVP & Cy Young races will be as tight as ever with every game meaning the difference between first and second. Most experts have the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees as season favorites to meet in the World Series, but things always change as the 2019 Champs showed.

MLB Season Best Bets
Los Angeles Dodgers Over 37.5 (-115) Total Season Wins
The Dodgers are co-season favorites along with the New York Yankees at 37.5 regular season wins. The blockbuster acquisition of Mookie Betts, adds to a Dodgers team that only batted .010 less than the MLB leading Yankees. The best ERA in baseball last year was the Dodgers at 3.37 and substantially worse was the Yankees at 4.31. The stats point me to lean towards taking the Dodgers out of the two teams. Last season, the Dodgers won 65% of their overall season games and in 2020 37.5 put them at 62.5%. I don’t see the Dodgers slumping this year, Take Over 37.5 wins.
MLB Best Prop Bets
Christian Yelich Over 14.5 (+105) Home Runs
Christian Yelich enters 2020 eager to get back to baseball after missing the final 18 games of last season. He crushed 44 home runs last year in 130 games played, averaging a home run just below every 3 games. Looking to stay in playoff contention & battling a stacked NL Central, the Brewers will look to play a fresh Christin Yelich as much as possible. The best player on the roster will continue to impact the team, and that’s why I take the Over 14.5 Home Runs in a short winner takes all season.
MLB Betting – MLB Best Long Shot Future Bets
|Team||World Series Projection||Sportsbet Magazine Odds||Listed Odds||Implied Win%||Value|
|Tampa Bay Rays||6.4%||+1463||+2200||4.3%||2.1%|
|San Diego Padres||3.1%||+3126||+5000||2.0%||1.1%|
The Tampa Bay Rays as listed above are a long shot worth taking. The Rays have arguably one of the best pitching staffs in baseball, led by Blake Snell, Charlie Morton and young phenom Tyler Glasnow. The offense brings in slugger Hunter Renfroe to counteract the offseason loss of Travis d’Arnaud. The Rays top our list of most added value in winning the World Series per our projections.
